Don Dogan, REALTOR, GRI
I guess most of my life has been about real estate. I started working with my father and grandfather remodeling our own homes while I was in high school. While a college student I worked summers as a carpenter building homes. In college I studied business and real estate at Indiana University and, by graduation, had my real estate license. I worked in sales in Indiana for a number of years and then was offered the opportunity to work for a large syndicator managing apartment complexes. They offered me the opportunity to move to Southern California, and I took it.
I have managed apartments, offices, retail and light industrial, and managed major rehab projects on apartments and offices. I have also rehabbed a number of houses in the Midwest and California.
A few years back I got involved in the local multiple listing service and served as; Director, Treasurer, Vice President and President. This was a whole new experience melding technology with the bricks and mortar aspects of real estate.
Recently I successfully appealed the tax assessment on an apartment building saving the owner many thousands of dollars a year on his tax bill.
What can I say? I like real estate and over the years have worked on most aspects of it. But the one I like the best is helping people experience; the thrill of buying a home or investment; the benefits of owning and living in their own home; or helping people work out their real estate problems.
Besides my college education in real estate I have a GRI designation and have taken most of the classes required for the CRS, CCIM and CPM designations. They say knowledge is power; let my knowledge, education and experience be your guide to buying or selling your home or investing in real estate. DRE #01102524
